The NAAB (National Architectural Accrediting Board) updated the “Conditions for Accreditation” in the summer of 2004. A 12-page excerpt of that document includes introductory notes about the NAAB, explains the 3 professional degrees that NAAB accredits (B. Arch, M. Arch, and D. Arch), and includes the complete set of Student Performance Criteria. These are the criteria used by NAAB to evaluate all professional architecture programs, and students are to be made aware of them. Please take this opportunity to review the excerpts. The complete 37-page 2004 NAAB Conditions for Accreditation is also available.
The two professional degrees, the B. Arch and M. Arch, offered by the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Kansas received a full, 6-year accreditation, in 2004. The program is seeking continuing accreditation of the Master of Architecture while the Bachelor of Architecture phases out in 2010.
Students and faculty may find a copy of the 2009 Architecture Program Report on the (intranet) Project Server under Accreditation.
