Architecture Degrees
The architecture program at the University of Kansas offers different types of degrees for the study of architecture.
Undergraduate Degree
Our undergraduate degree, the Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies (B.A.), is a pre-professional, liberal arts degree in architecture as preparation for a professional Master of Architecture degree or for work or graduate study in a related field.
Professional Degree
Our NAAB accredited Master of Architecture degree (M.Arch) is a professional degree. Students can enter this program at different points, depending on their background.
The Track I option is for students without a prior college degree and takes five years. Students in this track enter as undergraduates and leave with a graduate degree.
The Track II/III option is for students with a prior undergraduate degree, and takes from one to 3.5 years, depending on the student’s previous college work and undergraduate degree. Students in this option are admitted as graduate students.
Though the students in the three M.Arch tracks start in different places in the M.Arch curriculum, they eventually merge together in classes and design studios and all finish together with the professional M.Arch degree.
