The Architecture program offers three different undergraduate degrees with the Masters of Architecture as the professionally-accredited architecture degree. In addition, the program also offers a non-accredited Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies, and administers jointly with the School of Engineering a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering.
Masters of Architecture (professional degree)
For those seeking to practice as a registered architect, obtaining a professional degree is an essential aspect of preparing for the professional practice of architecture. Our undergraduate program is a 5+ year program for students entering without a baccalaureate degree (typically directly from high school). more
Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies
While not a professional degree, this four year program combines a liberal arts education with the study of the conceptual content of architectural education. The combination provides a rich foundation from which to pursue a professional graduate degree in architecture, urban planning or another environmental design-related field. more
Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering
The Architectural Engineering Program offers the degree of bachelor of science in architectural engineering (BSRE). Architectural engineering is the study of building systems (such as structures, electrical power and communications, lighting, and air conditioning) with the intention of integrating them with the building's overall architectural design. Students take architectural design studio courses alongside architecture students, complete engineering courses with other engineering students, and take courses specifically related to architectural engineering. Fourth and fifth year students typically select an emphasis area: construction management, building structures, building mechanical systems, illumination/electrical, or building acoustics in which to concentrate their studies. more
