The award will be presented at the AIGA KC Awards Gala & Exhibition on September 20 in Kansas City. With more than two decades at the University of Kansas, Mr. Dooley, professor in the Department of Design | School of Architecture, Design & Planning, has influenced legions of designers practicing in Kansas City and beyond. Dooley received a 2008 Sappi Ideas that Matter grant and, along with University of Kansas students, developed a print campaign benefitting the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a partnership between the Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association. About the AIGA Fellow Award The Fellow award recognizes a designer with 15 years or more experience who has made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within the local and regional design community, as well as in the AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership and reputation – as well as the practice of design – are given equal consideration.
